LABORIE LAZY DAYS MARKET CELEBRATES NATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY IN STYLE
11 AUGUST 2012
Traditionally Women’s Day is celebrated as a reminder of the contribution made by women to society, the achievements that have been made for women’s rights, and to acknowledge the difficulties and prejudices many women still face. In honour of this day and as a tribute to women of all walks of life, the Laborie Lazy Days’ Market, will be hosting a very special market on Saturday, 11 August from 9am until 2pm.
The popular lifestyle market is situated on the picturesque Laborie Wine Farm in the heart of the Paarl Winelands, less than an hour’s drive from Cape Town. The market has gained popularity as the ideal meeting place in Paarl. Known as the ‘neighbourhood farm in the centre of Paarl’, it is the ideal occasion for family and friends to enjoy a Saturday morning in a scenic and relaxed setting.
Chef Matthew Gordon, who creates mouth watering dishes at Harvest, the restaurant at Laborie, will be treating food enthusiasts to a complimentary cooking demonstration on the day. Master the art of preparing a chicken liver and roasted black mushroom risotto with pancetta and tomato confit. A tasty grilled calamari, rocket and crisp chorizo salad with peppadews, chorizo oil and coriander yoghurt dressing also forms part of this not-to-missed master class.
A special fresh flower arranging demo will be on offer in the historic Manor House. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to master the art of creating that perfect look! An entry fee of R50 per person will be charged, and booking is essential as space is limited.
Fitness fanatics can partake in a fun filled Adventure Boot Camp with Juli Geldenhuys on the sprawling lawns of the Manor House. The perfect way to work up an appetite for that freshly brewed cup coffee and warm croissant available at the market. Booking is essential as the session, which starts at 08h45, is limited to 30 people.
As an added extra all women attending the market on this day will receive a complimentary glass of bubbly to enjoy.
