We’ve all heard it but that doesn’t make it true. Today we’re going to debunk the following tall-tale: the finer the bubbles, the better the bubbly.
Bubble size, in Méthode Cap Classique and Champagne, is no indication of quality. There’s been lots of research surrounding this contentious issue and popular opinion, of those in the know, seems to be that the temperature of the bubbly, size of impurities and faults on the inside of the flute directly affect the size of the bubbles.
Warmer the méthode cap classique equals larger and more frequent bubbles. While microscopic streaks left by a dishcloth is what causes bubbly look flat, like white wine.
Interesting isn’t it?
On the 8th of December 2010 we will be hosting Carols by Candlelight. It costs just R50 per adult and R30 per child over eight. Gates open at 5pm and the caroling gets going at 7pm. What’s more is that it’s not just carols, there are a range of fun activities on offer!
Activities on offer:
- Picnics, which can be prebooked, and come complete with beautiful picnics spots under the moonlight
- Laborie Méthode Cap Classiques available for purchase at cellar door prices. This does however mean that no other alcohol will be permitted. Which is a good thing because let’s face it all other alcohol pales in comparison to what’s on offer from our side
- A night market with excellent Christmas ideas and more.
